Description: ►► FREE: Get the tabs, notation and practice tracks for all the bass lines in this lesson → becomeabassist.com/sweet-pentatonic-exercise ►► FREE: Get the tabs, shapes and notation for the pentatonic scale for bass here → becomeabassist.com/pentatonic-scale-for-bass-memorize-and-combine I’m almost certain you’ve heard of the pentatonic scale, right? You’ve probably even played it on your bass once or twice (or a couple of thousand times…) Well today, I want to share a new way of using the pentatonic scale on bass to make some super cool music. It’s one thing to just run up and down the scale - there’s nothing wrong with that at all - but the sweet pentatonic exercise you’ll learn in this video will have you jumping around the pentatonic in a very unique way. Doing this gives the scale a different ‘contour’ that makes it stick out from everything else you might be playing. That makes it perfect for: ► Creating fills that ‘pop’ ► Adding spice and flavor to your improvisation ► Even creating new bass lines (if that’s what you want to do) You don’t need tons of technique or loads of music theory knowledge to use it either. You can get started right away. Of course, this exercise works best when you have a decent handle on the pentatonic scale and the 5 different positions that you can use. If you need a helping hand with that though, I’ve got you covered - just check out this video: youtu.be/OUtHZGe-ja8 And you’ll be blazing the pentatonic scale all over your bass in no time at all. Of course, if you’d like the tabs, notation and backing track from this lesson, that’s available as a free download. You can get them all by filling out the form on this page: becomeabassist.com/sweet-pentatonic-exercise Good luck with the exercise! Give it a try the next time you want to play a fill or spice up your improv a little bit.
