Description: Our Kids Are Sugar Addicted. They Crave It. We've seen parents try all kinds of things. Discipline. Punishment. Control. Anger. And we've also seen most kids find ways around whatever they were told. The sneak it. Lie about it. Hide it. But rarely stop it until they choose to. It's an addiction for sure and a serious one. My wife has it bad. She actually feels better when she eats lots of sugar. At least for a while. She says she drives the car better. More energy. Could be. But the science shows that the results really do hurt people. And sugar moderation? Who can moderate and how do they do it? I have some relatives who aren't sugar addicted. They say that they don't like sugar. I don't know what that's about since just about every animal loves sugar. I think there was a study that showed that mice in cages went for sugar more quickly than they did cocaine. Wow! In this video you can see us trying to take a moderate approach. A reasonable one. Discussing it with our sons. The video was made 12 years ago and they are now young adults. One of them moderates his own sugar. Eventually he decided it was better for his health. The other one is a complete sugar addict and because he is thin, doesn't worry about it. He buys a box of cookies and eats the whole box. He gets a container of ice cream and eats the entire container. No problem. Rarely even takes a breath! My sugar problem these days is that I don't feel that a dinner meal is complete unless there is a bowl of ice cream at the end. Otherwise I just keep waiting to not be "hungry" any longer. My wife, being more of an addict, gets herself off sugar completely and is very proud of herself and then something, usually it is a cookie, sends her over the cliff and all she really thinks about all day is sugar. It's a terrible addiction really. So what's the answer for parents and for people trying to moderate their sugar intake? I don't know, but given that I am posting this largely for my subscribers to enjoy, I am sure that the comment section will be filled with suggested solutions. And may I suggest watching this video clip while having some sugar. I'll bet the clip will be more entertaining!
