Description: Stone Cold returning for WWE WrestleMania 38? What is going on in the wrestling world?? Cody Rhodes releasing a statement saying that he left AEW along with rumors that WWE wants to sign him was definitely the most important piece of news today. However, there was another story that was definitely interesting that I wanted to talk about. It’s about Stone Cold and the possibility of him coming back to WWE for WrestleMania 38 to have a match against Kevin Owens. It is a rumor and it seems like it could happen. Fightful Select broke the story stating that WWE is hoping to have Stone Cold Steve Austin wrestle his first match in 19 years at this year’s WrestleMania 38 show. Dave Meltzer went on to talk more about it stating: “The impression I have is the match is on. I know that backstage at WWE all day, that’s all I kept hearing about. Not ‘all’ I kept hearing about, but I heard it early in the day and then kept checking around and more people were saying they heard the same thing. I don’t know that it’s a done deal, but people were talking like it was. Like I said, I was not told that it was a done deal, but people were under the assumption that it was, and that promo clearly tells you that they are booking with the idea that it is happening.” If this does happen, then this is actually crazy. Stone Cold Steve Austin returning to the ring after nearly two decades of retiring from in-ring competition is just wild. I can’t imagine Austin really wrestling again. It’s just something that I would have never believed because Austin seemed like he really wasn’t going to wrestle again. And it makes sense. He’s got his neck and knee injuries that pretty much ended his career. I’d also say that he ended his career with the perfect last match. It was at WrestleMania 19 against The Rock in the last match of their Mania trilogy. It doesn’t really get any better than that. It’s kind of like Shawn Michaels coming back to wrestle at the Saudi show. That wasn’t a good idea and only tarnished his legacy. I don’t want to see the same happen for Stone Cold. The only way I would support it is if Austin was in really good shape and could pull off a good match. Kevin Owens is a good opponent because he can put on a good match and take a loss without really complaining. I mean, I wouldn’t complain if I was in WWE and they told me to lose to Austin in his return match, but some people got their egos. If the money is right, and he’s in good shape, I can totally see this happening. Vince McMahon does need another big match since Shane McMahon was fired. WWE was apparently going to have big plans for Shane O’Mac for WrestleMania 38. In fact, he was one of their big attractions.
