This class begins with a breathing exercise (pranayama) with hand positions (mudras) that will put you in a space to deepen your experience as you open up to transition. The breathing/movement sequence at the beginning of class includes Sumukham Mudra, which activates the Chakras and Ganesha Mudra, which removes obstacles and relieves tension. These mudras are enhanced with movement and Deep Belly Breathing Pranayama. After a fifteen-minute warm-up which includes stretches, twists and a bound modified side plank, you can look forward to familiar postures with heart-opening options (cactus, half, and full binds). This yoga class includes five rounds of sun salutations - in honor of the change of seasons. Flow around your mat with postures such as triangle, pyramid, twisted lunge, staff, eagle, and more! And what would a heart-opening class be without floor bow, camel, rabbit, fish, bridge, and wheel? Enjoy reclined pigeon and twists before Savasana!
