Whip up this delicious cornbread dressing recipe for the holidays, or for a tasty weeknight dinner - it's THAT simple. This southern style cornbread dressing is totally homemade and perfect for just about any occasion. First, and most importantly, you need cornbread for this recipe! Next, veggies and seasonings! My southern cornbread dressing has chicken in it as well, making it a hearty, flavorful dish. Bake this dressing for 35-45 minutes, and you're ready to serve! Make sure you head on over to my blog, IHeartRecipes.com, for the full recipe and measurements to make this crazy easy and delicious southern style cornbread dressing. iheartrecipes.com/soul-food-cornbread-dressing-recipe Timestamps for video: 0:35 - Make the cornbread. 1:00 - You can also use store-bought cornbread. 1:10 - You’ll need celery. 1:12 - You’ll need an onion. 1:20 - You’ll also need garlic and sage. 1:30 - We’ll be using crackers for this recipe. 1:40 - You can use white or dark chicken. 2:05 - Chop the celery. 2:45 - Chop the onion. 3:29 - Mince the garlic. 3:49 - Chop the sage. 4:07 - Drizzle olive oil into a pan. 4:38 - Add the chopped veggies to the pan. 4:45 - Stir while cooking. 5:00 - Cook until translucent. 5:10 - Add the sage. 5:25 - Stir while cooking. 6:25 - Leftover chicken or turkey works great for this recipe. 6:30 - Chop the chicken. 6:45 - Add cornbread to a bowl. 6:50 - Crumble the cornbread. 7:30 - Crumble crackers into the bowl. 7:40 - Add the veggies to the bowl. 8:00 - Mix the ingredients together. 8:10 - Add the chicken to the bowl. 8:30 - Pour in chicken broth. 8:48 - Whisk the eggs. 8:59 - Pour the eggs into the bowl. 9:02 - Give it a stir. 9:20 - Add in cream of chicken soup. 9:30 - Mix well. 9:44 - Sprinkle in seasoning salt. 10:10 - Sprinkle in thyme. 10:30 - Spray a bake dish with nonstick cooking spray. 10:40 - Pour the cornbread mixture into the bake dish. 10:45 - Smooth it out. 10:55 - Bake for 35-45 minutes.
