Description: We spent the day hanging out with Melbourne illustrator and print maker, Sorcha Mackenzie at her Collingwood studio learning about her process. “After creating a loose drawing, I usually pour over my sketchbooks, photo journals and diaries for inspiration of different elements to add into the composition; a gradual process of collage. My drawings often develop into etchings.” Sorcha’s incredibly detailed work combines elements of architecture and nature that take reference from her environment and travels. Sorcha’s illustrations transform these cities and environments to create new, sometimes eery landscapes. “My environment has always informed and offered the most inspiration for my work.
