Description: 50,000 human bones used as interior decoration at Sedlec Ossuary, Kutna Hora, The Czech Republic. Less than 1hr train ride from Prague City Centre. Woke up at 6am and took the early train to Kutna Hora via Kolin. Took a 15 minuted walk from Kutna Hora HL.N to Kostnice (Sedlec Ossuary), spent an hour or 2 there looking at the bones, then I took the bus to the city centre to see St. Barbara’s Cathedral. 6hrs visit, totally worth it. This is one more off the bucket list of things to experience in my life. According to the legend, one of the local abbots was sent by the Czech king to Jerusalem around the year 1278. The abbot brought a handful of soil from Golgotha and scattered it over the Sedlec cemetery. The soil from the Holy Land was used for consecrating and healing. Also, people from Europe desired to be buried in Sedlec. (Similar Holy fields were also in Rome, Pisa or Paris). The cemetery was considerably extended during great epidemics in 14th century, where 50,000 bodies were buried there. 5th August 2019. #Brunei #CzechRepublic #Prague #KutnaHora #Praha #Kostnice #SedlecOssuary #BruneianTraveler #BruneianAbroad #EuroTrip #SkullChapel #SkullChurch
