Description: Skolex Normal and Skolex Heroic guide! Skolex is a raid boss in the Sepulcher of the First Ones raid of Shadowlands. This is a big sand worm boss with Dune vibes, only one phase and straighforward mechanics. Hazel is partnered with BLD by NZXT! nzxt.co/HazelNutty This Skolex boss guide will show you the Skolex abilities that you'll see in the Normal, Heroic and LFR versions of the Skolex fight. Mythic Skolex has additional mechanics not shown in this Normal and Heroic Skolex guide. Footage of Skolex for this boss guide is from PTR raid testing and some mechanics may look different or change when the Sepulcher of the First Ones raid releases on live servers starting March 1st. The key to Skolex is managing the stacks of Ephemera Dust on the raid. When stacks get too high to heal, (we found after every 2nd Retch cast) you stack the whole raid together into one group to force Skolex to burrow. Skolex will get a stack of Insatiable, making him 5% ouchier but Ephemera Dust is cleared off everyone that took the hit. Tanks will want to swap after Riftmaw, mitigate Rend and stand near each other to make sure that the offtank takes Wormhole Jaws. Put the melee on one side of the boss and let the tanks stay on the other. Healers can dispel a blue debuff called Devouring Blood and should do so as quickly as they can. Sidestep the big cone attack Retch, and rotate ranged with the lowest stacks to the outside of the raid so they take the extra Ephemera Dust. On Heroic, the fight is the same but positioning is a little more delicate as the far ranged players will need to spread, and the two tanks will also need to spread while remaining closer to each other than they are to the melee.
