Environmental Scientist Nicole Johnston, 48, was leaving the library when she saw a huge wasp attempting to drag a large spider, that appeared to be dead or paralysed, into a garden bed in the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia. While at one point the wasp looked to give up, it eventually returned and succeeded in its task. Nicole guessed that the spider was to be food for the wasp's young. She described the wasp and the spider as "the largest" she has ever seen. Nicole said: "Australian Spiders are huge, quite often venomous and prone to turning up in your home uninvited, so, to see a wasp with the upper hand was an interesting turn of events and fascinating to watch.
