Description: Hey Herbal Community, With all the awareness around inequality and privilege bubbling to the surface in the world right now, it struck me as odd that there is little information or knowledge being shared from African Herbal Traditions. Why is this the case, when we have so much shared from other parts of the world? If you have any links to good African herbal resources, please add them to the comments. I wanted to share this interview Dionne Jennings did for Wild Rose College with my good friend Herbalist Shadrack Moimett, who traveled all the way from Kenya to join us for the 2019 Vancouver Island Herb Gathering. I first connected with Shadrack a number of years ago online when he reached out to me to learn more about western herbalism. Since then, through our dialog, I feel I have learned more from him than he did from me... What I love about Shadrack's message is that it is a simple and universal one. Focused on taking care of the community and their health needs through reclaiming local foods and plants as medicine in a non-expensive and connected way. I hope you enjoy this short video interview.
