The anti air missile can actually be seen for a few frames before detonating. MANPADS work by exploding very near the aircraft rather than actually making direct impact. This allows the munition to launch a blanket of shrapnel at the aircraft. The Su-25 is ruggedly built, and the cockpit is reinforced with armor. While the aircraft appears to have shrugged off the anti air missile, it probably received significant damage, and would likely be grounded if it happened to make it all the way back to base. We are doing our best to verify the Ukraine footage we publish while still getting it out in a time sensitive manner. We are being bombarded with footage submissions from Syria, Ukraine in 2014, and believe-it-or-not; video game recordings that are reuploaded with bogus present-day descriptions. Meanwhile, the information war between Russia and Ukraine is very real and misinformation is coming out of both sides to make themselves look better and cover their losses.
