That’s over double the light output. As for wattage, the LED bulb is rated at 22 and the halogen is rated at about 55, again depending on the brand but this is a substantial difference making the LEDs a much more efficient upgrade. Not all LED upgrades have this feature however, Morimoto has designed theirs to run off a lower voltage for daytime running lights so you won’t experience any issues such as flickering. When using daytime running lights, it’ll switch to only 30% of its light output and these LEDs will still be easier spotted by other motorists than compared to those factory halogen bulbs. They are equipped with factory matching plugs so no wiring modifications are required on your vehicle. After the plug is a built-in driver to allow for a reliable operation and this controls the lower voltage output for daytime running lights. And finally is the bulb, an all aluminum construction unlike other brands so you know it’ll last and we won’t have any plastic fatiguing over time. Diodes on each side, the diode position is adjustable which I’ll show in a moment, and it has built-in cooling within the light assembly. This specialty cooling design keeps the electronics protected from any moisture and keeps the light assemblies moderately warm to help melt off any ice or snow, but not as hot as a halogen so your lights will have a much longer life without experiencing that deterioration from excessive heat. Unlike other LED replacing bulbs on the market, these can have their beam adjusted ensuring you’re achieving maximum light output performance instead of having wasted or scattered light. The LED light is full aluminum construction, the retaining ring is specifically designed to allow for rotation a full 360 degrees with 15 degree lock intervals so the diodes can be properly positioned in the housing. The halogen bulb is typically rated at around 3000 Kelvin which gives a yellowish color. The LED on the other hand is rated at 5500 Kelvin and this provides a crisp white color reducing eye fatigue at night as well as highlighting objects on the road better I find. Even during the day you can see a substantial increase in brightness and color difference. The fog lights have a much quicker start-up time as well. These have a 3 years warranty and are made from high-quality components to ensure reliability and long life. These feature the Osram Oslon chips which match the illumination pattern from the factory bulbs. I couldn’t be happier with these bulb upgrades. I can still maintain those stock assemblies while improving their performance and most importantly improving my nighttime driving experience. I’ve been using these for a couple of months so far, at the moment with our clocks going back it now gets dark at about 5:00 pm so they’ve seen quite a bit of road time. There have been zero issues with oncoming motorists flashing their lights at me, no issues with flickering and no issues with my truck’s canbus system. I would highly recommend these as an upgrade.
