Description: Belarus will deploy special forces in 3 areas near its southern border with Ukraine. Minsk is also deploying air defence, artillery and missile units for military drills in the country’s western part. Minsk claims the troop deployment is in response to continued military buildup by the US and its allies. For months, Minsk has complained about NATO countries amassing soldiers near its borders with Poland, Lithuania and Latvia.
