Maybe you’ve been seeing “zero day attack” trending and you’re not sure what it means but on our global apocalypse cards you KNOW we haven’t put a big squishy marker dot on zombies yet. While it doesn’t involve human zombies, zero day attacks are kind of a big deal, and the Log4Shell exploit was one of the most massive implementations the cybersecurity community has ever seen. Like a functional morning it starts with Java, only instead of liquid wakefulness it’s the programming language from the 90’s. As Java proudly reminds us any time we need to update, over 3 billion devices run Java, at least… not counting Java running on every Android phone in existence This particular zero-day vulnerability gives hackers a way they can use a zero-day exploit to launch a zero-day attack!
