Description: ABOUT: This movement is in 7/8, subdivided as 2 + 3 + 2 throughout from beginning until the end. It is a perpetual motion of just eighth notes from beginning to end. When played with a quarter-note metronome beat, as it is here, a downbeat will occur every other measure on all odd-numbered measures. The speed played here is a little under half speed, at least compared to Sokolov's tempo (who plays it slower than most other performers at 155 bpm per quarter note - live performance in Paris, 2002).
