Description: studiobeeproductions.com I always love making the video on the processing of our honey, and this year I get to show how our new uncapping tank solved the issue of spilled honey. Once again we had a great crews of volunteers working the line, and we had a lot of fun getting the work done. You may notice the configuration of the process has changed, the honey/wax separator has been removed, and the uncapping tank in now in it's place. I decided to process the wax mixed honey at a different time so as not to slow down the process of running honey frames through the uncapper and extractor. By focusing on just running the frames and not dealing with the wax, a lot of time was saved. Plus, I can then run the wax at a leisured pace instead of a break neck speed. And don't worry about missing how I do that, I will be making a video and posting it in 2 weeks. You may also notice that we only had half the honey boxes this year compared to what we had last year, that was purposeful. My goal for Abbee Honey is to keep honey from the abbey bees in the Abbey Gift Shop all year. To do this I only need about 300 gallons. Therefore, because I don't want surplus honey, and I definitely don't want to do the extra work to get it, we cut our production in half. With our Spring harvest of about 220 gallons, and hopefully our Fall harvest about 50 or 60 gallons, we will meet our goal. Unfortunately, because both Charlie and I were working the entire time, and our hands were covered with honey, not much was videoed of the process of running frames through the machines. We did however manage to video the entire clean up process which so many of you wanted to see. For those interested in buying some of our Abbee Honey here are the details: If you'd like to buy some of our Abbey Honey, I'd be more than happy to send you some. The cost is $10.00 for a one pound, plastic bottle, and $9.00 for shipping. If you want more than one bottle, the shipping cost is still $9.00 for up to 2 bottles, but each bottle is still $10.00. As soon as I get your check, I will send it out. Make the check out to St. Joseph Abbey but send the letter to: Mr. Ed 75376 River Rd. St. Benedict, La. 70457 If you'd like, I'll even sign the bottle. Looking forward to hearing from you. Thanks for watching. God's peace. Mr. Ed
