Description: Vaughan, Ontario Canada, 2011. Police interview Daniel Costa, a Toronto police officer at the time, and brother of Michael Costa. Michael Costa was an accused drug dealer and person of interest when Alexander Kucovic, was shot and killed execution style. Alexander Kucovic, formerly known as Kosto Barjaktarovic, had mob ties and was formerly in the witness protection program for being a snitch, but was no longer in it when he was killed. It was later revealed that officer Daniel Costa lied in his police interview about the whereabouts of his brother. Daniel Costa gave his brother a ride to the airport earlier in the day of his police interview, where his brother had departed to Italy. A review of his computer activity also revealed he had searched police records without authorization for information about his brother. Daniel Coasta was later charged with perjury, but acquitted after the defense argued that Costa could not be found guilty of perjury considering he was not required by law to be speaking to the police. In April 2015, Michael Costa was charged with one count of conspiracy to import and trafficking cocaine. As of Sept. 2016, no arrests have been made in Alex Kucovic’s murder. Note* The last 10 minutes of the interview the screen goes black, I assume due to crappy A/V equipment in the interrogation room.
