Join us on Wednesday, April 20th at 12:00 pm for a conversation between our new Executive Director, Mush, and Berkeley Councilmember and Youth Speaks alum, Terry Taplin. Councilmember Taplin will reflect on how spoken word poetry has stayed with him throughout his career and what impact Youth Speaks had on his professional journey. Through the intersection of arts education and youth development practices, civic engagement strategies, and high quality artistic presentation, Youth Speaks creates safe spaces that challenge young people to find, develop, publicly present, and apply their voices as creators of societal change.
