Description: The Phuket Sandbox is an attempt by Thailand to open up to tourism again after so long shut down because of Covid19. A month in, the scheme has brought in over 15,000 tourists so far, but it's still unsure whether it's been a success or not or even if it will continue. Some say why let Phuket open up while Bangkok is in near full Lockdown again and Covid deaths are reaching record highs. But this may be the way tourism is going to have to look if we are ever to get back to normal again. And the rest of the world, particularly the poorer nations who rely on the income tourism brings, are anxiously watching the project to see if it can be made to work.
