Description: Best tried and true life tricks and tips! You know a tip is good if it worked over 100 years ago and still works now! Subscribe for weekly wacky videos: bit.ly/2LUOOD2 6. Peanut Butter And Gum Peanut butter and gum are a gag-worthy combination. When it comes to gum stuck in your hair, however, peanut butter is your savior. You would think that this nutty spread would cause a stickier mess, but let’s remember how much oil is in peanut butter. That oil will stiffen the gum, causing it to be less sticky. Cover the wad entirely in peanut butter then wait a few minutes. Eventually, you will be able to slide the gum off those strands! 5. Hot Flowers Hot water can kill weeds but also give flowers life! How is this possible? Let’s explain. First of all, don’t throw boiling hot water on flowers in your garden. This method is preserved for cut flowers you’re placing in a vase! If you have flowers that look like they’re going stale, place them in a vase of hot water. Let them sit there until the liquid has cooled. After, throw out the old water and replace it with cold water and put the flowers back in. They should fresher than they did an hour ago. Florists employ a similar method with freshly cut flowers, too. That is because the warmed stems can absorb water better! 4. Baking Soda Vs Stains We mentioned earlier that baking soda is your best friend when it comes to cleaning most surfaces--and that goes for leather and pleather, too! We wear leather-type shoes in the winter to prevent rain and snow from seeping into our boots. People often throw salt onto the streets to help snow and ice melt, therefore making it easier to walk or drive. That salt can build up on our shoes and create stains. To rid yourself of salt marks, mix two tablespoons of hot milk with baking soda. Use a cloth and polish the mixture onto your shoes. They’ll be brand new in no time! 3. The Right Way To Scrub Walls In other things in life, you start at the bottom. The same can’t be said for scrubbing walls and big mirrors. Sure, you can still have a pristine wall if you start cleaning from the bottom up, but why do all that unnecessary work? When you start at the top, all the soapy, runny water flows down the wall, helping clear out some of the dirt before you even get there! The soap has a chance to sit for a while before you wipe all that grime away. 2. Your Own Fire Extinguisher! Most people nowadays can buy a fire extinguisher and bring it home. If you want to do a more do-it-yourself route where you are familiar with all the ingredients present, you can make a fire extinguishing mixture at home! You need three components: 2 quarts of water, 1 pound of salt, and a half-pound of salammoniac. Keep glass containers of these around. If a fire breaks out, throw these bottles into the flames. That should subdue most of the fire. 1...
