Description: Taylor McKenzi always felt their gender was fluid as a kid. “When we would play pretend, I would often choose Harry Potter, as opposed to Hermione.” When the pandemic hit in 2020 and everyone isolated indoors, Taylor decided to enroll in an online acting program - where for the first time ever, they heard the gender pronoun "they/them." This small but revolutionary moment planted a seed in Taylor that began to bloom and grow during the pandemic despite often problematic reactions from their controlling partner. Sensing that they wouldn't find the support they needed at home, Taylor began pursuing a career path that would lead them to financial independence - ultimately giving them the ability to leave the toxic relationship, find a supportive environment, and live their true identity.
