Description: The hunt started real slow and without hope. After a few coil swings I already knew, there is nothing left but modern trash. When I realized that the "outside" part of this forest also looked like a dump, I "gave up", took a short break and was almost on my way out. I then investigated the tiny portion of the spot next to me. What I didn't know, I sat down right next to a coin spill :). A nest of rusty German Pfennigs (1948-2001) from the pre Euro era. There was a French 1/2 Franc coin in between, which was a little bit odd. It could indicate that the person who lost all the coins came from France. I still wasn't convinced and thought, "this is probably all there is", but then it happened! I went to the side and swept my coil over a relatively loud target. I couldn't believe my eyes when a big silver coin came out of the ground - a U.S. Benjamin Franklin Half Dollar from 1952. What a shock! I love finding U.S. coins in Germany. I had some stunning hunts in the past with several silver quarters, but this coin was way more satisfying. Check out some of my previous U.S. coin finds: ▶ youtu.be/C-BSGJXvero ▶ youtu.be/-aeSBT1Ke_Q Unfortunately everything in life comes at a price and my happiness didn't last long. I found a deeper signal, a small 1700's shoe buckle "in two parts". The soil was hard and compressed, the buckle must have been located at an angle which fooled the detector. I miscalculated its size, position, wasn't even expecting anything from this time period... and broke it. Without this mistake it would be the perfect hunt with a great turnaround. I also found a (bent) military button with the number 15. It looks 1700's as well. I have no info on that. I hope you enjoyed this outing. Lesson learned: never give up... especially in metal detecting. :) Thank you for watching. 🎧 The sound in this video was recorded in binaural audio.
