Description: Maybe we watched Glee a little too much, but after 6 months of planning, voice lessons, and rehearsals with my church and music students, I staged a volleyball tournament to give my girlfriend (who loves musical theater) the surprise of her life! Includes 100 performers, 69 singers, 18 dancers, 13 instrumentalists, 11 cameras, 7 confetti cannons, 3 sound systems, 2 choreographers, + 1 girl who’s worth it! I love you Teri! Song is "Marry You", originally by Bruno Mars. I modified the lyrics, however, as I am conservative and wanted to make it more positive. In case you were also wondering, she's been asking me daily for almost a year when I was going to propose (so it wasn't extra pressure by asking her in front of the group). I had to keep telling her I would propose when the time was right! Special thanks to my church (Centerville Presbyterian Church) and my music students from COVA Conservatory. You might be young, but you're amazing and I will do everything I can to help you achieve your dreams! Also, a huge shout out to SF Flash Mob for getting the dancers from Project M! You guys were incredible! I will continually update with more credits as I remember them, but here's some of it for now: Lead Singer and Creator - Tom BetGeorge Lead Singer 2 - Mykaangela Mabandoss (COVA Conservatory) Lead Singer 3 - Fortunato Yabut iii (CPC) Singer Choreography - Marc Ampon (Friend) Dancer Choreography - Anthony Esposo (SF Flash Mob) Video Editing - Tom BetGeorge Camera 1 - Jermel Ladd (Nephew) Camera 2 - Natalie Ladd (Sister) Camera 3 - Rocko Luciano (SF Flash Mob) Camera 4 - Sylvia Yabut (CPC) Drone - Peter Kontorinis (Other cameras were stationary) Sound design: Kathy Babyak (CPC) Sound recording: Tom BetGeorge Lighting programming: Jeff Holmes (Friend) and Tom BetGeorge Cannons: Rand Fisher and Russ Zimmerman (CPC and COVA) Musicians on stage: Contemporary Worship Team (CPC) Choir on stage: Traditional Worship Choir (CPC) Choir in sanctuary lobby: Advanced Choir (COVA Conservatory) Drum line: Drum line students (COVA Conservatory) Drummer in sanctuary: Phillip Ellingburg (COVA Conservatory) Voice Lessons: Raz Kennedy Because they are so deserving, allow me to give a shout out also to timessquareconfetti.com What really helped make the video was the amazing confetti. Dancing it in was surreal and it really added to the effect. I contacted the owner by phone (Cynthia) and she was so nice and responsive. They shipped out the next day and the quality was awesome.
