You can read more details on the removal here: scp-wiki.wikidot.com/forum/t-14469202/announcement-regarding-the-removal-of-scp-173-s-image When I think of the old version of SCP-173 and how prolific it was, I can't help but think that despite its 'creepiness'' it did have a mascot-like appeal. So when I did my redesign, I wanted to make something with a simple silhouette that you could draw from memory. Ended up with a... uh... slightly enhanced stick figure sculpture, haha. With it's kid-like appearance, suddenly the line-of-sight element of SCP-173 takes on a new meaning. It's a game! Kind of like hide and seek. But with more neck breaking. Note that there is no official replacement for the image. This is just for fun.
