Description: My Image Processing Guide: bit.ly/astro-processing Let's get your Photoshop workspace set up for astrophotography! It's all about layers, channels, actions, and history. These are the 4 main tabs you'll want in your astrophotography workspace You can close all of the other tabs and windows that open with the default workspace. The most important window is LAYERS. The idea is to make every new adjustment on a new layer so you can build the image one step at a time, adjusting opacities along the way Channels and Layers go hand in hand - you're often applying percentages of certain channels to layers. Actions can perform complex transformations in a single click (the astronomy tools action set is my favorite) When you're happy with this workspace, you save it and load it up any time you're working on an astrophoto Other important tools in the menu are New Adjustment Layers (mainly Levels, Curves, and Saturation). Select Color Range, Select and Mask - and the all-powerful Camera Raw Filter will be your new best friend when processing an Astro image. for more in-depth descriptions of these tools, and how you can apply them, feel free to check out my recently updated astrophotography image processing guide: bit.ly/astro-processing #Shorts
