Description: A full journey compilation from a journey from Mumbai to Bhopal aboard the Vidarbha Express, and switching subsequently to the Hyderabad Ajmer Express. We start from Bombay VT aboard the Vidarbha Express and switch next morning at Akola to the Hyderabad Ajmer Express, hauled by Kazipet twin WDM3As. The train has a speedy run from Akola to Khandwa, with no stoppages in between, except to get overtaken by the Mahanagari Express and the Mumbai Varanasi Superfast. We then proceed on a hot hot day northwards through the dry plains of Madhya Pradesh, overtaking 4 trains - namely Mumbai Varanasi Superfast, Mahanagar, LTT Pataliputra Superfast and LTT Rajendranagar Express. Post Itarsi, we cross the Narmada and climb into the Barkhera-Budni ghats, devoid of its greenery. The journey ends with a a short clip from the trip back to Itarsi from Bhopal aboard a disgustingly dirty Sant Kabir Dham Express, hauled by a beautiful Itarsi WAP4. This was one of the last journeys undertaken before electric locomotives started plying on the Itarsi-Jabalpur stretch so Mahanagari still had her twin Alco consist.
