Well Mary was her actual name. Mary Mallon. 5. Deadman’s Island Deadman’s Island is found in Vancouver, Canada. The name of this island already sounds haunted right? There are actually creepy noises and sobs of a woman can still be heard from an unknown distance and location. One fascinating reason why this island was given this name was because history has it that this island was once the site of a severe battle where lots of people had died. 4. Hart Island This eerie place is located in the United States. It was even nicknamed the “Island of the dead”. This island in particular has served a lot of purposes ranging from military training grounds to a hospital for tuberculosis, prison, and narcotic rehabilitation center. It was once used as a quarantine site for yellow fever and an Asylum for women only. 3. Palmyra Island This place is located in the Pacific Ocean, and boasts abundant vegetation and a reef with colorful marine organisms occupying it. But it has experienced quite a large number of very strange and paranormal activities. Many have been led to believe that the island is even cursed. The first time this island was ever discovered was in the year 1798 when Captain Edmund Fanning was sailing to Asia. 2. Cross Island This island, located in Maine, is part of a national wildlife center. It might interest you to know that this haunted uninhabited island was once home to a number of people. Today the remains of abandoned school buildings, homes are still left standing. It is now home to only eagles, birds, ospreys and white-tailed deer.
