Hope to see you on Stream! twitch.tv/spectrolite_aaa_ Twitter: twitter.com/WalkingMelons ---------------- This is what I've been working on for the past 3 weeks. heh it definitely took a lot longer than I expected! when I had this piece pop into my head, I thought at the longest it would take me 25 maybe 30 hours similar to the length of my Ultimate Undertale, DBZ, or Diamond Authority piece. I didn't realize it was going to nearly double the longest I've ever worked on any painting in my entire life! and with no regrets! 50 hours?! WOW! I love Minecraft, and I am very proud of this piece! It may sound like miencraft came out of no where, but it's actually been one of my all time favorite games. Been playing it for about 8 years with very fond memories being introduced to it by a person really dear to me when I was younger. Me and my brother have put countless hours into it, and now with my partner. I really cannot wait for the Caves and Cliffs update coming this summer, as that is what this piece focuses my art interpretation based off of what we saw from the trailer. I wanted to keep the stylized version to all be a blocky resemblance to my style, while still looking like minecraft, while also being organic and more natural and messy like real nature is, which is why a lof of blocks are different shapes and sizes and imperfect, different angles etc, while still uniform enough to look like minecraft. (but still avoiding perfect voxal because screw that!) Drawing landscapes normally is hard enough and ha! well by drawing this I found that this was much harder, drawing organic blocky minecraft landscapes was a challenge and there's definitely imperfections in it but that's ok. lol I also made the mobs around the cobblestone border washed out as not to distract from the landscapes of Alex and Steve going on their adventures in the main part of the piece. not sure if I succeeded in that, but again I think it's fine? Minecraft has so much to offer, and it's sad I couldn't fit in more, there's SOOO much to the overworld and soon to be caves this summer, but a big part of minecraft that hits deeper than most games, is sharing it with friends or family. Minecraft is meant to be experienced with others that I think is one of the reasons why it hits so close to home deep within the community and fans for all ages, there's so much to do, and it's all up to you what you want to do with it. My favorite part of minecraft is exploring (not building surprisingly) and with it being such a bonding game, I really wanted to express that with Steve and Alex going from one cave to the next the deeper they go, experiencing what wonders they come across together. Will I do another massive minecraft? NOT SURE! I would love to do a Nether piece like this to match, and heck, I even have ideas in my head for even the aquatics update and the End, but hahah after this, ngl I'm a little burnt out on massive pieces, and I need to do some small normal art pieces like I usual again for a while, so no idea when it'll be, or IF I'll even do the Nether and others haha. so don't hold your breath XD All music is Minecraft OST.
