Description: It's been a while! I spend quite a lot on milk tea and I figured towards the end of the month maybe I can still get a decent boba fix without spending as much. This is the same simple recipe that I've been doing for the last couple of weeks and it's pretty good! Let's get to it! MILK TEA Tea bags 1/4 Cup Tapioca Pearls 1 Cup Brown Sugar Evaporated Milk Boil water, place it in a heat-proof jug, and then steep a couple of tea bags in it. I like to mix some hojicha (or even genmaicha) with regular black tea. Make syrup by mixing 1 cup brown or dark brown sugar with 1/2 cup water, and gently boiling the mixture until thick but still runny. Avoid using a non-stick pan. Cook according to package instructions 1/4 cup of quick cooking tapioca pearls or boba. Once cooked to your desired tenderness (think still springy but not difficult to chew), dunk the pearls into an ice bath to stop the cooking process, and then strain and mix into your syrup. Time to assemble the milk tea! Easy peasy! Add in a thick layer of your pearl and syrup mixture. I like to add nata de coco or coconut gel as well. Add in some ice cubes. Pour in your tea mixture. Add around 1 Tbsp of evaporated milk (substitute with whole milk) per tall glass. Mix well, and enjoy!! :)
