Description: The Cougar MRAP is used for command and control, explosive ordnance disposal (EOD), patrol, convoy support, forward observation, and surveillance (Med-Evac) missions in urban and confined areas. IED detonations and small-arms fire are two of the primary threats it is designed to protect against (SAF). The US Department of Defense commissioned them under the Mine Resistant Ambush Protection (MRAP) program.
