Description: Mario Kart 8... but it's on the Wii U... and it's the Battle Mode! Happy April Fools Day, folks! I thought it'd be fun to round up some players and play the Wii U one more time so that we can record a multiplayer session of the game's Battle Mode! Now that the superior version of Mario Kart 8, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, has been out for several years, it's pretty interesting to look back and see where this game's success truly began. It was the Wii U's best-selling game, and it has now gone on to become the Nintendo Switch's best-selling game; it's even now become one of the best-selling video games of all time! However, the most noteworthy upgrade between the original Wii U version of the Mario Kart 8 and the Deluxe, Nintendo Switch version is the complete redesign of the game's Battle Mode. The original version of Battle Mode left... a lot to be desired. As a result, I rarely ever played it, let alone recorded it. And I don't believe I've ever played the original Battle Mode with friends either. Well, that changes today! I'm now recording a Friend Room session of the original Wii U Battle Mode! And here's a quick fun fact! Throughout the entirety of my Mario Kart 8 Wii U videos, no track ever appeared in a thumbnail twice. That still holds true! GCN Dry Dry Desert never appeared in a thumbnail until now. And so, with that, the only track to never appear in a thumbnail is the summer variant of the Animal Crossing course!
