Description: Man Marries Three Wives To Fetch Water In Drought-hit Indian Village Subscribe: bit.ly/1dKbiT4 A husband has told how he married three wives to try and solve the lack of water in his home in India. Sakharam Bhagat, 66, lives in a rural village in Maharastra, western India, with no running water. He married a second and third wife because his first wife refused to continue fetching water from the nearby well. Tuki Bhagat, 65, (first wife) gave her consent for her husband to marry again. ‘It was easier,’ she said. ‘We needed water, it was a necessity, and marrying a second wife so she could take over the water duties seemed a good idea. But as we got older it became tiresome for her too, so we got a third wife in.’ Sakharam quite happily shares his bed with three wives but said it's a huge responsibility and something he has had to do to rectify the water shortage in his village.
