Description: This weeks project features no woodturning, at all, not even a little bit. Its a project I've been working on in my spare time over the last 3 months. The log had been previously dried and when I looked at it my instant thought was..chess board. I've opted for cast chess pieces, simply because I prefer the look of character pieces over what would be considered "standard". Wood is Apple for the chess board, the outside frame is Oak finished with several coats of Danish oil. My website - mjturning.com
