The latest #jackmansized creation is this nutcracker that is actually taller than me. He's built almost entirely out of wood and almost entirely out of reclaimed materials. The body, arms, and legs are all different segmented turnings built up from some reclaimed oak and fir beams/studs along with some maple butcher block off cuts. This totals up to being almost 100 segmented rings and 2,000 pieces of wood in total to construct this creation. Add some threaded rods to hold him together, a little bit of accent paint, some Carolina Boots on his feet, and some hair on his head/chin and we have a nutcracker that is capable of cracking coconuts! I'm honestly not sure what Carolina is going to do with this thing. It's incredibly robust though, so I suggested that they use him for testing out the safety toe in their boots, but apparently there are "nutcracker labor laws" I was unaware of. ► Full build article - bit.ly/2LNzDuV Notable Materials & Tools used on this build: Materials - Reclaimed oak beams & fir studs: bit.ly/2s49U8o - Maple butcher block off-cuts - Wood glue: amzn.to/2oLI9Sf - Ledger lock screws: amzn.to/2LI8Q2W - 5 minute epoxy: amzn.to/2op9Oss - TotalGold paint: amzn.to/2LHmbZd - Carolina Logger boots - Tung oil finish: amzn.to/2i4ltW7 - Furry blanket - Nuts: amzn.to/2LIK5U5 Tools - Hearing protection: bit.ly/2Vp6PgH - Thickness planer: amzn.to/2j4ISuI - Fence clamps: amzn.to/2m7vtkr - Miter gauge angle gauge: bit.ly/2F0Zq1k - Hose clamps: amzn.to/2moNY62 - Drill & driver: amzn.to/2wy5wSZ - Silicone glue mat: amzn.to/2tvLbIk - Drum sander: amzn.to/2RuVo84 - Metal rulers: bit.ly/2TmTvHM - Glue roller applicator: amzn.to/2FuIPjs - Pipe clamps: amzn.to/2R1Dav9 - Wood lathe: amzn.to/2yrn8Nz - Lathe chuck: amzn.to/2lrYCtF - Carbide lathe tools: bit.ly/2rZFap1 - Oscillating tool: amzn.to/2R1R4O3 - Angle grinder: amzn.to/2BxiIai - TurboPlane grinding disk: amzn.to/2LEqrsF \\\\\ GENERAL PANDERING LINKS \\\\\ ■ Website - jackmanworks.com ■ YouTube - youtube.com/jackmanworks ■ Instagram - instagram.com/jackman_works ■ Twitter - twitter.com/jackmanworks ■ GIFs - giphy.com/channel/jackmanworks ■ Facebook - facebook.com/jackmanworks Plans, stickers, t-shirts, etc: jackmanworks.com/shop Shoutout to my top Patreon supporters! - Dave Soetanto - Steven Ingles - Old-School DIY (@gfc62) - Jeffery Nichols - Cory Helmer - Shawn Rose - Riley Conway at Conworks Design - Diane Beene - Scott Brooks - Terre Tulsiak - Greg Gilhooly - Chad from ManCrafting \\\\\ MUSIC \\\\\ ■ Tchaikovsky - Dance Of The Sugar Plum Fairies youtube.com/audiolibrary/music ■ Björn Skogsberg - What Would Grohl Do ■ Dust Follows - Condor ■ Smartface - Grounded ■ Martin Hall - Now We Do It Again ■ Park Lane - Aim High ■ Hara Noda - Tender ■ Traditional - Russian Dances Music from Epidemic Sound.
