Description: This is the story of how we made a giant gingerbread town in 24 hours, and ended up having to lower it off a second story balcony. I've never actually made a gingerbread house up until this point, but I had a tried and true recipe that I've been using to make cookies for years, so I suggested making houses. Nathan suggested making a town, I said I'd 3D model it, and before we knew it we were designing custom cookie cutters to 3D print. Hope you enjoy this little video I put together! We had a lot of fun making it - and I can't wait to see what we build next Christmas. Maybe a castle? Suggestions are welcome! Gingerbread Recipe- Dry ingredients: 2 ½ cups plain flour 1/4 cup brown sugar 3 tsp cinnamon 3 tsp ginger 1 ½ tsp baking soda ¼ tsp salt Wet ingredients: ½ cup margarine, softened ½ cup maple syrup 1 TBSP apple cider vinegar 2 tsp vanilla extract 1 vegan egg replacer Combine wet ingredients and mix thoroughly. Combine dry ingredients in a separate bowl and whisk together. Add wet ingredients to dry and mix until a thick dough is formed. Chill in the fridge for 1 hour. Roll out to 5mm thick and cut into shapes, then place back in the fridge for 15 minutes. Bake in the oven for 8-10 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius.
