Description: I have been converting an unfinished room in our basement into a craft room. I had previously torn off all of the wall paneling and ceiling in this room leaving it as just bare studs. In finishing this room, I built a soffit around some ducts that are in the ceiling and I put in new electrical outlets and lighting. I then covered the ceiling with ¼” plywood and the walls with ½” plywood. This was then painted white to make a very bright space. Lastly, I made a French cleat system on the walls to hold our new workstations and storage systems for the craft room.
