Description: We love signing this catchy #rhyme in #Makaton. It features in the back of the #EricCarle book TODAY IS MONDAY. It's a great way to learn the days of the week, practise your sequencing skills, practise your signing and learn some food signs too! We've signed the story here if you want to read & sign the book too: youtube.com/watch?v=kYZXoCblNX4 Signing note: in this song, we used the sign for Spaghetti (Bolognaise) rather than the two-part sign for PASTA in Makaton, where you sign P + the shape of the pasta. It made sense to use one sign to simplify the song. For chicken - this is the chicken (food) sign, not the chicken still running round the farm of course and the same goes for the fish too, the fish on your plate, not swimming about in the sea. We also used the alternative sign for TO EAT (ie. with cutlery) as most of the food in this song would require cutlery. But you can always use the bunched hand by your mouth if that is the only TO EAT sign you use.
