Description: NEW: JOIN ME ON PATREON: patreon.com/TheMobReporter Nearly 20,000 coconuts being shipped from Colombia to Italy were revealed as a clever plot — coconut water inside the hard shells had been drained and replaced with liquid cocaine. Let me tell you about it. The Mob Reporter here with news of a series of mind-blowing smuggling fails that show the ingenuity of the narcos and the persistence of police, both at the same time. The logistically complex load of coke going from Colombia to Italy, announced on Jan. 27, 2022, likely means a deal cut between the narcos and the Mafia. And it isn’t the only narco deal unraveled last week. On Jan. 28, 2022, Spanish police announced they had foiled a conceptually similar smuggling effort — hiding coke inside a hard shell. This shell, however, was considerably more robust than a coconut husk. They needed the firefighters to haul out their heavy cutting tools. It took two days to cut into the 14 metal cylinders, parts for an 11-ton industrial crushing machine. Police eventually extracted 464 kilos of coke, authorities said. Four people were arrested.
