Description: Subscribe to our YouTube channel for free here: sc.mp/subscribe-youtube All is calm in the southern Ukrainian port city of Berdyansk. Yet, the signs of Russian occupation are palpable. Russian troops patrol the streets and tanks are parked around the city. But unlike most of the country, there are no sounds of active warfare. That’s because Ukrainian troops left the city quickly after Russian forces took control of it, just four days after the invasion began on February 24, 2022. In the weeks since, Berdyansk, west of the besieged port of Mariupol, has been cut off from other parts of the country and is currently under Russian military occupation. Moscow has installed local administrators for a future with Russia and said it has used the port as a base to ferry in equipment to its troops.
