Description: The Østerild wind turbine test field is located in the north of Denmark. Here, new wind turbines are first tested on land before they are erected on the high seas. A newly developed turbine with 14 megawatts had to be erected for the company Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy. Two Liebherr LR 11350 crawler cranes from the Danish crane company BMS Heavy Cranes A/S were on site to install the wind turbine. Both cranes were equipped with power-boom as well as luffing jib to 185 metres hook height with 380 tons ballast. First the 10-metre high nacelle, which has a volume of 800 cubic metres, was lifted. This was followed by the generator, which was by far the heaviest load. *This video was taken in compliance with the locally applicable Corona guidelines.
