Description: It's been a pretty miserable end to our weekend with a severe weather event delivering around 150 millimetres or 6 inches of rain per day for the past four days. With widespread flooding occurring all over the south east corner, I take some comfort in knowing our flying-foxes have the capacity to wrap their large leathery raincoats around their furry bodies to keep warm and dry. The weather is expected to improve somewhat by tomorrow and that's when the rescue phone will start ringing off the hook. With everybody staying inside, netting and barbed wire captures are not reported in and bats will be dying. Please check your fences or your netting and call if required.
