Description: Donate (thank you so much!): fretjam.com/support.html Lesson Page: fretjam.com/guitar-timing-exercises.html This is the 2nd part of my lead guitar timing series (link to first part: youtube.com/watch?v=0j310ma9k-o) In this part, we take the core note values we learned previously and combine them into exercises to help us transition between them seamlessly. So the aim is to be confident with playing both a straight run of notes and breaking up those runs with longer notes. I tend to think of these breaks as "punctuating" your phrases, which helps with articulation. We also look at syncopation (an important element of groove). This is where we position notes off the beat, giving our lead a more propulsive momentum.
