Melbourne electronic duo Kult Kyss released their debut EP Ultra Sound in November last year to rave reviews. Ultra Sound featured collaborations with LUCIANBLOMKAMP, I Know Leopard, BRUX and Motez as Kult Kyss sought to, in their words, “explore all aspects of our identity as artists, traversing between vibrant euphoria, dark introspection and dreamy nostalgia, immersing listeners in an expansive and multifaceted world”. It turns out they were not done with this process of exploration and collaboration, nor with Ultra Sound. They’ve revisited four tracks from the EP, but this time they’ve enlisted the talent of four of Australia’s most cutting-edge producers with Nyxen, Arp Deco, REBEL YELL, and hyperpop star Donatachi taking the reins on remix duties for their Ultra Sound Remix EP. “In the wake of our tour, we're incredibly excited to share our Ultra Sound Remix EP with the world. For this EP we were fortunate to collaborate with a collection of talented artists whose work we love and admire. Each artist brought their unique sound and style to their individual remixes, traversing a wide sonic palette from nu-age trance, dreamy house, 80s chill wave and dark, industrial sounds.” – Kult Kyss Kult Kyss described their original version of the third track ‘Ghosts’ (a collaboration with Australian band I Know Leopard) as being, “inspired by artists such as Massive Attack, Radiohead and Fever Ray … a dark and dreamy journey through our souls and into the night; [with] brooding piano chords against icy vocals, trip hop beats and analog synths.” Arp Deco has managed to thaw some of those vocals and although the listener will still embark on a journey into the night with the remix, it feels like the sun is about to break. --- Welcome to the official TMRW Music YouTube channel, where we bring you the biggest dance hits first.
