The apparent weapon fell onto the floor after the 17-year-old jumped onto a pal’s back at Port Richmond High School around 11 a.m., cops said. The video shows school safety agents who were standing nearby try to stop him from leaving — but he flees out of the building. Staten Island high schooler horsing around with his girlfriend accidentally dropped a BB gun onto the lobby floor right in front of a school security guard — and a surveillance camera, police said Wednesday. Cops are currently looking for the teen, who was recording himself with his phone getting a piggyback ride from his girlfriend at Port Richmond High School in Elm Park at about 11 a.m. Tuesday, school safety officials said. But as he did so, an air pistol fell out of his open backpack and clattered on the floor, the surveillance video shows. The teen discreetly picked up the BB gun, puts it in his waistband and made a beeline to the door but was stopped by the security guard and another staffer, the video shows. The two tried to hold him but he broke free and ran off. Cops are now looking for him. The video was shared online and tweeted by a law enforcement group. “Gotta love public school,” the poster wrote across the video. “NYPD School Safety aren’t armed for those asking.” School safety officers searched the school grounds to see if the teen had ditched the weapon but found nothing. Port Richmond HS doesn’t have scanners but school safety officers would wand students entering the building Wednesday, school safety officials said.
