Please share this link with all who believes in supporting and preserving our regenerative farms and cultural practitioners in this time... Mahalo! We must stand strong!! "A local organic farm and cultural education center here in Kahaluu, Hawaii is at risk of losing their land. The loss of this space would be a detriment not only for a single family, but an entire community that relies on regenerative agriculture. Today, @manaai and @huialohaainamomona are raising money to keep ownership of their farm under the local nonprofit, Hui Aloha ʻĀina Momona 501(c)3, which focuses on community agriculture, cultural, and environmental work. Born after the legalization of traditional poi making in 2011, their impact stretches across the Hawaiian Islands and beyond poi making into a subsistence garden that feeds many homes and communities. After 70 years of destruction from chemical agriculture, they’ve spent the last 7 years transforming this 2.9 acre lot into a cultural education center and organic farmstead. They dream of creating a new type of farm school on Oahu for at-risk youth in Hawaii, focusing on subsistence lifestyle and cultural practices as the foundation of agriculture in Hawaii. After a rough year financially, their landowners surprised them this past June with a 90 day eviction notice. Kahaluu is a hot zone for development, and today the land is being threatened to be turned into a housing project. If you could do one thing today to support land stewards of this precious planet, please support this farm and community. Their GoFundMe goal is to raise $400,000 to help qualify for a loan to save their land and they have a donor willing to match $80K in donations — time is of the essence. All donations are tax deductible. Your support in saving this foundational pillar in our regenerative food community will help inspire many others to give and share food that they grow. . Please share and let this ripple of kindness and support flourish." gofundme.com/f/save-our-farm-from-developers filmed by: Hopena Media Mahalo!!
