Description: Located on the side of Mt Ogura in Kyoto’s famous Arashiyama district, lies Jojakko-ji Temple. It was founded in 1596 by Nisshin, the head priest of Honkoku-ji. What makes Jojakko-ji interesting, is not only that the temple is one of Kyoto’s best autumn leaf spots that features a nice 12m tall pagoda, but it is by Kyoto’s standard, a place often set aside and ignored by travelers.
