Description: This trip was perfect, I wouldn’t change anything about it. I had an opportunity to talk with some of you in Barcelona about social media and my thoughts on its effect on mental health. The internet and social media saved my life. They showed me a world that I didn’t think existed and let me know that there was a place for me in it. On the other hand social media, sharing, over sharing and the pressure that comes along with that, is really hard. Not just for people who do it as a part of their job but for all of us. It’s important to have these conversations and realize that none of us are alone in the way that the internet has a way of making us feel connected, while equally disconnected. Be kind. Be kind in your comments. Be kind in your tweets. Be kind with the content that you share. Be kind online and be kind in real life. It is the only thing you can wake up every day and choose to do that will make the world better and change lives.
