Description: I was able to sneak out for a short metal detecting adventure. Unfortunately the location I had in mind wasn't suited for hunting that day. Too much modern trash in heavily modified terrain. I had to walk find something else, but because I had limited time, I grabbed the first best opportunity. The alternative area wasn't looking much better. I had the feeling, the whole slope was covered by soil from above. In this case there is only one direction - up! Unfortunately the situation did not improve much. Finds were rare, the area seemed already (pretty well) detected. But, sometimes small miracles happen... I couldn't believe my eyes when after a shallow, strong signal a 1700's shoe buckle popped out of the hole. I was expecting anything but this! I also found a strange round "thing" with numbers that looked "1700's" as well. I wonder what it was. The golden hour passed and so ended my time. I had to run to the train station.
