Description: youtu.be/dxHedIOsf7g - 🔴 How To Taper Jeans (2M Views) 🔴 If you have a pair of chinos that are too long in this video I'm going to show you how to shorten them. You're going to need a sewing machine, some tailors chalk, a ruler, and some sewing pins. My chinos from Target are 34x34, which for me is way to long. I want them to be 34x32. In order to do that I'm going to measure 2 inches from the bottom of my chinos up. Then I'm going to cut off the extra fabric right underneath my original hem, leaving about 3/4ths of an inch. Anything less than that and it will look weird trust me. Then I'm going to put some sewing pins in it to hold it in place, and sew a new straight stitch right on there. As far as my mistake goes, as you can see I had a TON of birdnesting underneath my chinos when I started. The reason why that happened is because of my bobbin, and it was super frustrating. I ended up having to take all of that out with a seam ripper which is time consuming, and then start over. I wanted to make sure to keep all of this in here so that you know it can happen to you.
