Description: Asuswrt-Merlin allows us to setup a VPN with Policy-Based Routing on a router. This means that we can decide which devices are protected by the VPN and those that aren't. Running a VPN on a router allows you to protect your entire home network without using VPN applications on each device. You can also protect devices such as gaming systems and streaming devices (Roku) that you can't install a VPN app onto. Asus-Merlin is a 3rd party firmware that provides additional features not found in the original and Policy-Based Routing with a VPN is one of them. In this tutorial I show examples of protecting both a Windows PC and Firestick but you can protect all devices that connect to your network.
